The College Series
Our salvation is the college series. Just when you can’t go on mentally or physically any longer, the competition and finality of the series rescues and invigorates your mind and body. We’re rescued by adrenaline masking the pain of months of workouts and practices. The sun finally shines high in the sky; unforgiving ice is now merciful grass. And the honor and recognition of completing the journey is in sight. MagnUM Team 17 completed their journey by placing 5th at College Nationals in late May. Only time will tell how far we can go next year.

Easterns 2014 Champions
In the biggest regular season tournament of 2014, MagnUM put itself on the map of elite college ultimate teams. On Saturday, Michigan collected wins against Carleton, a perennial powerhouse, and Luther, a team that many had high expectations for in 2014. This Saturday performance pushed MagnUM into the quarterfinals on Sunday morning, where they would triumph over Harvard on universe point. In the semifinals, Michigan went down 11-6 to Minnesota and a finals berth seemed lost, until a 6-0 run put MagnUM back in the driver's seat. MagnUM would win another nail-biter on universe point, putting them in the finals against Pittsburgh. After a back-and-forth battle, MagnUM emerged triumphant in a 15-13 victory, clinching the 2014 Easterns championship.

Ahhhhhhh. Regionals sweet Regionals. MagnUM traveled down once again to the pithole in Rockford, Illinois in quest of earning a Great Lakes Regional championship. The winds were blustering, the fields were adequate, yet the passion still permeated the atmosphere as teams fought to die another day. MagnUM pulled up the fields sporting a healthy dose of swagger and an even healthier desire to blast a little Creed through their bumpin’ speakers. Oh yea, it was gametime!
